The media has hyped the need to look beautiful to such an extent that many people will go all the way to look good. And mind you, this does not apply only to women but also to the male species. And a very strong element of looking good is the kind of smile that you have.
Is your smile bright and does it expose a set of perfectly lined white pearly teeth? Or do you tend to cover your mouth with your hand to try and hide the yellow stained teeth or the large gaps that you have in your incisors?
Yellow teeth for one are extremely disgusting and therefore you shall see that there is a huge mushrooming of teeth whitening products in the market. There are whitening gels, whitening toothpastes and whitening liquids available to meet the high demand that is becoming apparent to all, the need to have perfectly whitened teeth.
White, shiny teeth can also be achieved through dentistry. And this latest stream of practice is called cosmetic dentistry. Many celebrities who can afford the expense are opting out for teeth whitening since their looks are what ensure them regular work.
Wanting to have a perfect set of teeth is not a crime. When everyone is harping so much on the importance of the way you look, why should you not make efforts to do what you can to enhance it. Gone are the days when people got a gold tooth in place of a broken one or fitted jewels in their teeth.
That may be a manner in which people try and show off their wealth but in fact, it looks extremely vulgar and crass. These days if people break a tooth or part of it, they tend to go in for porcelain a tooth that matches the look of the original.
Wide gaps in the teeth can also be corrected with the use of cosmetic dentistry these days. The price of the procedure varies depending on the corrective measure required and the complexity. These rates also vary depending on the reputation of the cosmetic dentist that you approach.
To be able to review an entire list of the various cosmetic dentistry option available and the approximate price range of each, all you need to do is to log on to the Internet and surf through some sites. You can find the professional help in your area through the Internet itself.

Treatments that work to stop hair loss
By : Dharmender Singh
Many people experiencing premature hair loss simply resign themselves to a process that is as inevitable as growing old. This is a positive and healthy reaction to what is a natural process for many. But for others the onset of premature balding or excessive hair loss represents a traumatic development that causes untold worry and suffering. This too is a legitimate reaction regardless of whether the hair loss is caused by hereditary factors or some other more complex cause.
Should these sufferers just grin and bear it? No, they should not because there are a number of potentially effective treatments they could utilize, depending on the nature of their hair loss. In this article I will outline some of the most popular hair loss treatments currently available in order to reinforce the fact that hair loss can be treated. The next article in the series will look closely at the treatment regimes best suited to specific ailments such as alopecia areata and telogen effluvium.
At present only two medications have been approved as hair loss treatments by the FDA. These are minoxidil, better known as Rogaine, and finasteride, better known as Propecia. Several other drugs have proven to be effective in combating hair loss, dutasteride for example, but have not yet been approved for this particular use.
Finasteride was originally developed to treat enlarged prostate conditions but a low dose version was subsequently approved for the treatment of hair loss in men. It tackles the causes of male pattern baldness by preventing the conversion of 5-alpha-reductase into DHT. Given that DHT is the main male hormone linked to hair loss, reducing its production by two thirds has a major impact on controlling this type of baldness.
Research has shown that 83% of men studied were able to maintain their hair count and 64% experienced regrowth by the end of a two year period. It should be noted that finasteride is approved for use by men only as the drug can have serious effects on unborn male fetuses. Women should therefore only consider using this drug under the strict supervision of a physician.
Dutasteride (Avodart) is a new medication for use in treating prostate conditions and, although not yet approved for the treatment of hair loss, it does offer exciting possibilities. It works in a similar way to finasteride but reputedly reduces overall DHT production by over 93%. As is the case with finasteride, women should consult their physician before using dutasteride.
Minoxidil (Rogaine) is the other hair loss treatment approved by the FDA and it is the only anti-baldness drug approved for women. Applied topically, its main benefit is its ability to stimulate regrowth thus reversing the effects of pattern baldness. Many users combine the application of minoxidil with other hair loss treatments like Propecia to achieve maximal results, but others experience satisfactory outcomes using minoxidil on its own.
Several studies have shown that certain non-drug products promote hair regrowth but none have yet been approved by the FDA. This is partly due to the prohibitive costs involved in conducting trials to prove that the products are effective for the purpose of marketing them as hair loss treatments. Many individuals and dermatologists nonetheless recommend use of certain non-drug treatments as an alternative or complement to drug therapy.
In many instances the treatments are based on natural ingredients that stimulate similar responses to those of the prescribed drugs but without the side effects. The information provided here presents a sample of products that have been subjected to testing or at least have had their effectiveness supported by independent feedback.
One such product is Arcon Tisane which has become Europe's top selling natural supplement for hair loss. It comes as a capsule and sub-lingual spray containing saw palmetto and fenugreek stimulating a response similar to that of finasteride by inhibiting the production of DHT. Arcon Tisane has been clinically tested and has received widespread media coverage of its success in combating hair loss.
Calosol is a relatively new product aimed at helping alopecia areata sufferers. It consists of a shampoo and an accelerator applied daily in order to stimulate hair roots, reduce hair loss and promote healthy hair. Early indications suggest that Calosol can contribute significantly to easing this distressing and difficult to treat condition.
Fabao 101 is a treatment that comes in varying formats, each designed to tackle a particular form of hair loss. The common factor to each product is their derivation from natural plant sources. It was developed by a dermatologist and has received many international awards.
Folligen copper peptide products are designed to help create an environment that improves scalp health, reduces hair loss and stimulates hair regrowth. It can be used by both men and women. Studies at over 30 leading universities and medical research institutes have established the effectiveness of the technology utilized in Folligen products.
Tricomin is another treatment that targets the delivery of copper to the base of the hair follicle and it too has been clinically proven as an effective treatment for stopping hair loss and stimulating regrowth. It can be used safely with other hair loss treatments and can be especially useful in complementing the effects of finasteride and minoxidil.
Revivogen is an all-natural hair loss treatment that reduces DHT production, blocks the androgen receptors and stimulates hair growth. It is used topically and has no known side effects.
Shen Min is another natural hair loss treatment designed to restore and regrow all types and stages of hair loss. It is safe for both men and women. Shen Min contains a blend of Chinese herbs and comes in various forms to suit most people.
ThymuSkin was developed by German scientists to fight hair loss in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Due to the high success rates the product was developed for use by the general public to combat all types of hair loss. Clinical studies conducted in Europe show that ThymuSkin hair loss treatments could help to stop baldness and regrow hair for 67% of men and 95% of women.
Hopefully this article has demonstrated that many treatment options are available to hair loss sufferers. The next article in this series will develop the theme further by examining the treatment regimes that have proven effective in tackling specific forms of hair loss such as androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata and telogen effluvium.

Skin Care Moisturizer Cream Can Keep Your Skin Smooth and Supple
by: Sylvie Bordeaux
They say beauty is only skin deep, but only a woman knows just how true that is. You can be the prettiest thing in the room, but wrinkled, sun damaged skin can certainly bring your appearance down several notches. Skin care moisturizer cream is just the thing you need to help prevent new wrinkles, reduce the appearance of the wrinkles you have, and help heal sun damaged skin. Whether you struggle with dry skin, combination skin, oily skin, acne, or some other type of skin condition, there is a moisturizer that is made just for you. The only challenge is finding the right moisturizer for you and knowing what to look for. It’s all about getting the details right -- what types of moisturizer are best for you and how often to apply them. Luckily for you, we’ve got the scoop on the best moisturizers for your needs.
Water Based Moisturizers are a No-No
When purchasing moisturizer cream, many women simply do not stop and look at the ingredients. Often women are attracted to a pretty box or a pretty jar with a fancy sounding name without realizing that many of the moisturizers out there contain up to 40% water. Other women make the mistake of going with a water based moisturizer, thinking that water is the most natural moisturizer in the world and that it should do wonders for their skin. Strangely enough, that is not the case. Different all natural ingredients, like Aloe Vera, are better suited for a moisturizer for the face, especially for those looking for anti aging or anti wrinkle benefits. It may not seem like it but water based moisturizers are a recipe for disaster when it comes to dry skin. They dry out your skin even more as opposed to adding much needed moisture.
Consider the Benefits of Natural Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera based creams are different and for those who have only used water based products or for those looking for a change in their present moisturizing routine, this is the best and only alternative. A few of the skin care moisturizer cream products even contain essential fatty acids and other ingredients that actually imitate the natural actions and compositions of your skin. These special ingredients work wonders against drying and breakouts, and makes it easier for the ingredients to be absorbed into the skin. Aloe Vera itself is 100 percent natural, coming straight from the plant of the same name and is known for its healing benefits to damaged skin.
How Often is Too Often?
Depending on your skin and its makeup, you never know how much to moisturize until you figure out what is best for you. If you have normal skin, moisturizing once a day should be sufficient, but if you have dry skin or skin with a condition you may want to consider moisturizing twice daily -- once during the morning hours and once before bed.
Be sure to follow the directions that are specified on the back of moisturizer box or jar for best results and remember that not all moisturizers are created equal. Some of them have specific instructions and are designed to treat different skin conditions so be sure to read the label carefully. Some moisturizers have natural oils, vitamins, lipids, and other ingredients that are designed to smooth and beautify your skin. Be warned that chemicals have been added to other moisturizer creams and these should be strictly avoided.
How do you know which is the best skin care moisturizer cream for you? In all reality, there is no “one size fits all.” Everyone has a different type of skin and unfortunately there is a bit of trial and error that you must go through. You have to find out the hard way sometimes but often you can take shortcuts by getting recommendations from other women with skin similar to yours. Remember though that just because a particular product works for someone else does not necessarily mean that it will work for you. One thing you can be sure of though is that it is pretty hard to go wrong with an aloe vera based moisturizer. Aloe Vera can heal damaged skin, moisturize, and even provide some anti aging benefits as well. Plus it doesn’t dry out the skin like water based moisturizers do...and it should go without saying that dry skin is much more prone to wrinkles than hydrated, moisturized skin.
The benefits of Aloe Vera are endless and no matter what type of skin you have, you should be able to enjoy the benefits of this all natural ingredient that was discovered more than 3,500 years ago and that is still being used today. An Aloe Vera based moisturizer can help give you healthier, more beautiful skin no matter what kind of skin you have and no matter how much sun damage you have.
Be sure to read the label before buying any moisturizer cream and always, always, always demand an Aloe Vera based moisturizer.
Do you hate fine lines?
Do you hate wrinkles?
Do you hate sun spots?
Do you have old acne scars to get rid of?
Do you want to feel beautiful again?
An Aloe Vera based moisturizer cream just may be the way to go and due to its healing properties, Aloe Vera should be something you look for in any skin care moisturizer cream.

Vegetarianism - Be Healthier And Live Longer
Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes all animal flesh, including eggs, seafoods and slaughter by-products. Vegetarianism may be related to morality, religion, culture, ethics, aesthetics, environment, society, economy, politics, taste, or health. A generic term for both vegetarianism and veganism, as well as for similar diets, is "Plant-based diets". Vegetarian diets have been found to satisfy the nutritional needs for all stages of life, and large-scale studies have shown vegetarianism to increase longevity, improve health, and significantly lower risks of cancer and other diseases.
Health Concerns: Why go vegetarian?
You'll ward off disease. Vegetarian diets are more healthful than the average American diet, particularly in preventing, treating or reversing heart disease and reducing the risk of cancer. A low-fat vegetarian diet is the single most effective way to stop the progression of coronary artery disease or prevent it entirely. Cardiovascular disease kills 1 million Americans annually and is the leading cause of death in the United States. But the mortality rate for cardiovascular disease is lower in vegetarians than in nonvegetarians, says Joel Fuhrman, MD, author of Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss. A vegetarian diet is inherently healthful because vegetarians consume no animal fat and less cholesterol and instead consume more fiber and more antioxidant-rich produce.
Religion
Hinduism and Jainism teach vegetarianism as moral conduct whilst Christianity and Islam generally do not. Buddhism in general does not prohibit meat eating, while Mahayana Buddhism encourages vegetarianism as beneficial for developing compassion.
Humans, are they supposed to be vegetarians? Quotes from the holy scriptures:
Judaism
"Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in that which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food."
In Genesis (1:30)
"And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so."
Isaiah (1.11)
"He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man."
CHRISTIANS
When Jesus spoke of meat he was talking of food Close study of the original Greek manuscripts shows that the vast majority of the words translated as "meat" are trophe, brome, and other words that simply mean "food" or "eating"
St. Luke (8:55)
Isaiah's words
"Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil and choose the good."
Hindu
The Manu-samhita, the ancient Indian code of law, states, "Meat can never be obtained without injury to living creatures, and injury to sentient beings is detrimental to the attainment of heavenly bliss; let him therefore shun the use of meat."
In another section, the Manu-samhita warns, "Having well considered the disgusting origin if flesh and the cruelty of fettering and slaying of corporeal beings, let him entirely abstain from eating flesh."
More recently the Hare Krishna movement has introduced these ethical considerations around the world. Srila Prabhupada, the movement's founder-acarya (spiritual master), once stated, "In the Manu-samhita the concept of a life for a life is sanctioned, and it is actually observed throughout the world.
Emphasizing the Vedic conception of the unity of all life, Srila Prabhupada then stated, "Everyone is God's creature, although in different bodies or dresses. God is considered the one supreme father. A father may have many children, and some may be intelligent and others not very intelligent, but if an intelligent son tells his father, 'My brother is not very intelligent; let me kill him,' will the father agree? ... Similarly, if God is the supreme father, why should He sanction the killing of animals who are also His sons?"
Islam
The Quran, 6:38
All creatures on earth are sentient beings. "There is not an animal on earth, nor a bird that flies on its wings - but they are communities like you."

Living Healthy While Alive
You bet you want to live a long and healthy life! Everybody does! I do too! Yet, the world seems to be full of elderly people, and often not so elderly, who over-populate nursing facilities, are in and out of the hospital, complain about how bad they feel, or bear their infirmity silently and live out their lives in more or less misery.
It doesn't have to be that way!
Fortunately there are those who enjoy good health into a ripe old age, and that's where you want to be. If you are blessed with good genes, be grateful and don't take it for granted that they will see you through. Nurture them with all the health-giving elements you hear about from many experts: exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, don't smoke, if you must drink alcohol then at least drink responsibly, take nutritional supplements, get sufficient rest, etc... all that is good advice that will, without a doubt, strongly increase your odds to enjoy good health and live with abundant health.
Health experts tell us that the sooner we start honoring and taking care of our health, the more our chances increase for a life of good health and wellness. Alternative health practitioners, and now even many medical practitioners as well, recommend thoughtful nutritional supplementation. When you supplement your diet with health-enhancing nutrients processed in a responsible manner from natural and organic sources, you are ahead of the game and your body thanks you for it.
In fact, nutritional supplementation is no longer a choice, it's a necessity.
Let's face it: Your Health is your responsibility! Look at these considerations:
· It's a well-known fact that the fruits and vegetables we purchase today, no longer have the nutrient content they once had. Already in 1937 a congressional paper (Document No. 264) warns about the alarming fact that fruits, vegetables and grains no longer contain enough of many needed minerals and trace elements and are therefore starving us, no matter how much of them we eat.
· Medical practitioners and nutritionists know that at various ages we need different nutrients and different quantities because many substances made by the body itself diminish with age.
· Many foods in our American diet, especially processed foods and fast foods, create free radicals in the body that gradually deteriorate your cells.
· Many illnesses occur because of a nutritional deficiency, which often can be cured by supplying that nutrient.
Thoughtful nutritional supplementation, in addition to appropriate lifestyle changes (cooking and eating very close to the natural state of foods), can help balance your metabolism and minimize oxygen free radical damage to your cells.
Doesn't it make sense to inform yourself and listen to your body and do what's necessary to help you live a healthy life?
Do it now, don't wait until disease has you in its grip!

Tips To Maintain Good Oral Health
Tips to maintain Good Oral Health
Authors – Dr. Kripa Shetty, Dr. Kavita Mahesh, Smile Care®
Good oral health involves more than just brushing. To keep your teeth and mouth healthy for a lifetime of use, you use these tips:
1. Understand your own oral health needs.
• Talk with your dentist, other oral health care specialist, or hygienist about any special conditions in your mouth and any ways in which your medical/health conditions affect your teeth or oral health.
• Get professional cleaning done at least once a year.
2. Develop, then follow, a daily oral health routine.
• Take care of your teeth and gums by thorough tooth brushing and flossing.
3. Use fluoride.
• Fluoride strengthens developing teeth in children and prevents tooth decay in both children and adults. Toothpastes and mouth rinses contain fluoride. Drink fluoridated water.
4. Brush and floss daily.
• Brush your teeth at least twice a day (morning and before bed time) and floss at least once a day.
5. Eat a balanced diet and limit snacking.
• Eat wisely. Avoiding sugars and starches when snacking applies to adults as well as children. Minimize snacking and have a five-a-day helping of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables
• Avoid tobacco. In addition to general health risks, smokers have 7 times the risk of developing gum disease compared to non-smokers.
• Limit alcohol. Heavy use of alcohol is a risk factor for poor oral and general health.
6. Examine your mouth regularly
• Look for the development of any spots, lesions, cuts, swellings or growths on your gums, tongue, cheeks, inside of your lips, and floor and roof of your mouth. Examine your teeth for any signs of chipping or cracking, discoloration and looseness.

Setting Health and Fitness Goals
What is the benefit of a health and fitness plan? When you are healthy and fit, you have better mental alertness, you respond quicker, you relax more under pressure, and you are able to wind down out of stressful situations by getting exercise.
Some people when they relate exercise to the idea of going to a gym or going to a sport and working out so hard after the training that it actually hurts. That's not the kind of health and fitness I am talking about. Some people do that and every now and again they will go to training, but in general the idea is to get enough exercise that is actually enjoyable without going to the absolute limit all the time.
I can relate this pretty well to the way that you look after a motor vehicle. If you always drive your motor vehicle to its absolute maximum performance, right up to the red line and then change, what you find is that your maintenance costs start dramatically going up.
I remember when I was a teen-ager we used to take out our cars into the forest around Canberra, and go rally-driving with our street cars, and what we found was that all of a sudden you get all these loose bolts and things falling off and all sorts of things start breaking, simply because the cars were never really designed for that sort of punishment, and the people who have race cars, that are rally cars, once they bring them back from the bush, they go through all the bolts and tighten them all up and put lock-tight on the bolts and get rid of all the dirt out of the joints, and so on, and yet here we were, packing the vehicles out, wrapping them around, and then trying to go to and from work the next day. Guess what happened, sooner or later things started to break, usually sooner.
If you treat your body in the same way that we were treating our cars, that is, taking it to the absolute limit all the time, you will start breaking things, hurting muscles, hurting bones, you need to make sure that your body has time to recover from minor injuries. On the other hand, if you work so lightly that you don't even get a decent work-out; you are totally wasting your time.
We know that going to the gym is not going to be every one's cup of tea; doing marshal arts is not going to be every one's favourite activity - some people might like to play baseball or basket ball , or walking down the street, or walking through the park. A lot of people say "I can't afford a sport", and that may be true but you cannot afford not to exercise.
The process of exercise makes the body subtle; actually before I started doing marshal arts I had to go and see a chiropractor every week or couple of weeks, because I was having back problems, and what I found was that after I started exercising regularly, I didn't get anywhere as near as the amount of problems I was getting before.
Heart attacks are caused typically by cholesterol, and healthy exercise will actually help, but it doesn't actually eliminate the risk of a heart attack. Let's say that you happen to be blessed with a metabolism that is really high or you work out 18 hours a week and you are really fit, it doesn't really mean that you won't have a heart attack, because if you still have high cholesterol or LDL from animal products in a large degree, you can still have a heart attack. It is as simple as that because it is not the fat that gives you a heart attack but the cholesterol.
So don't you think if I work out and I've got this really good-looking body, I really don't need to worry about cholesterol because I am not fat. I am not saying to overly worry about it but keep it in mind that you need to keep a good balance between the types of food that you eat.
There are some interesting aspects about health and fitness. One is that bone strength is improved by doing resistance training, whether it is lifting weight or doing some sort of exercise where you put resistance against your bones even playing games such as baseball or basket ball.
When you start exercising your bones, you actually strengthen them and managing your bone density or bone strength is partly achieved. Both bone strength, muscle strength adds flexibility. The health of your spine is important so that it is exercised in such a way that the joints get moved and they don't calcify. If you don't do any sort of exercise, what happens is that your back stiffens up, the joints calcify and you are more susceptible to pain.
In my job as a computer programmer, I had a stage where because my arms were always stretched out, I had a problem starting to appear in my back; I went to a personal trainer who did a little bit of work on my posture and strengthening the right muscles and I've never had a problem since. If I tried to manage that, without doing some remedial exercise or maintenance type of exercise, I would have so much pain that I couldn't work.
Some of you probably have jobs where you get plenty of exercise, that's fine.
What sort of goals should you set in health and fitness?
After consulting a health and fitness professional, perhaps go to the gym three times a week. You will be able to measure how much you have done by looking at your score card, and/or setting up a reminder notice in whatever calendar tool you happen to use.

Teaching Hatha Yoga - The Side Effects of Yoga Practice
New Yoga students should be made aware that there will be positive side effects from their Yoga practice. Their mind and body will function in true harmony as a result of daily practice. Students of Yoga often develop a newfound love for life, and they usually think more clearly than ever before.
When you consider any activity, or drug, there are usually some side effects, over long-term use, but how often are the side effects negative? Maybe more than half of the time, we anticipate a negative side effect. Consider this: There are only positive side effects, which occur from Yoga practice.
Stress becomes manageable, internal conflicts are reduced, and you develop complete clarity through Yoga practice. The most valuable aspects of Yoga are enhanced mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Meditation is one the most important Yogic methods, because this practice eliminates confusion, frustration, and internal or external conflicts. The Yoga practitioner, who meditates on a regular basis, finds a state of bliss and a newfound self-awareness. Meditation is a complete "tune up" for the emotional and mental planes of our existence. Regular meditation sessions will yield a sound mind.
A balanced mind will function in harmony with the body. With the emotional, mental, and physical planes of existence working smoothly, a Yoga practitioner will be more likely to achieve spiritual growth. Some will ask, "Does this mean Yoga will make you better than everyone else?"
In answer to that question - Let's say: As a result of Yoga practice, you should live a longer, happier, and healthier life. To claim superiority to others; would defeat the true purpose of the Yogic way of life. If we have the desire to truly help others see the value in Yoga, we must be humble examples of our lifestyle.
The moment the ego takes control of our actions, we are not present for our practice. If we are truly "in the moment," we can feel inner peace and tranquility. Your optimum mental state of tranquility can be felt by any other person who comes into contact with you.
On the other hand, the ego fuels arrogance, which will not enable us to help others. It is not possible to be diplomatic and arrogant at the same time. Please remember that every form of conflict is a choice. If we let the ego run our lives, we are not living much differently from a dog who proudly displays his or her tail high in the air.
